1ste, 2dre, 3dje
1ste, 2dre and 3dje are old Norwegian ways to write first, second and third: the number followed by the last letters of the ordinal word, as in den 1ste Mai.
Modern Norwegian writes an ordinal as a number with a period, as in 17. mai, but older writing added the end of the word to the numeral: 1ste for første, 2dre for andre, 3dje for tredje.
When a date is written out in full, you need the ordinal words themselves. FamilySearch lists them, from første (first), tredje (third) and fjerde (fourth) up to tjuende or tyvende (twentieth) and tredevte or trettiende (thirtieth).
