Tobacconist
A tobacconist sold tobacco, cigars, snuff, pipes and smoking supplies in a shop.
A tobacconist kept a shop selling tobacco in its various forms with matches, pipes and other smoking supplies. In the United States the shop was traditionally marked by a carved wooden Indian figure standing outside.
An older, dated sense of the word was simply a heavy smoker. In records, compare cigar maker, who made the product, with the tobacconist, who sold it.
