Truck driver

A truck driver drove a motor truck hauling goods for a living.

Wiktionary defines a truck driver as a person who drives a truck, especially for a living. In the United States and Canada truck drivers are also called truckers, teamsters or simply drivers, so the word teamster in a record from the motor age may mean a truck driver.

The 1940 census instructions give "Truck driver, Reforestation" as a model entry. Do not confuse a truck driver with a truck farmer, who grew vegetables for market.
