urodzony
Urodzony is Polish for "born" (urodzona for a girl, urodzone for a child); in a birth record it introduces the place, day and hour of the birth.
Urodzony means born. The ending follows the person: urodzony for a male, urodzona for a female, and urodzone when the word refers to dziecię (child), which is a neuter noun in Polish. The verb form urodził się means he was born.
In the narrative records of Russian Poland, the birth date comes after urodzone and is often given as dnia wczorajszego, yesterday, counted from the date at the top of the entry. That opening date is the day the record was made, so do not copy it as the birth date. Before a noble's name, urodzony could also mean well-born.
