f.
F. in Swedish records usually means född, "born," before a date; it can also mean fadder (godparent), far (father) or förre (former).
In a household examination roll, f. followed by a year and day is a birth date. But f. was used for many words: fadder (sponsor), far or fader (father), följande (following), förlovad (engaged), förre (former) and föräldrar (parents). In Latin it can mean filius or filia, son or daughter.
Let the next word decide. A date after f. is a birth; a name in a list of witnesses is a fadder. F.d., före detta, means former, as in f.d. soldat.
