bur.
Bur. means "buried" or "burial": the date given is the burial, which was usually a day or a few days after death.
Bur. is the standard short form of buried in parish registers, sextons' books and genealogies. Many early church registers recorded burials rather than deaths, so a burial date is often the closest record you will find.
When you use it, label it as a burial date. The death itself was usually a short time before, but the gap could be longer in winter or when the body was moved.
