K of C
K of C means Knights of Columbus, a Catholic men's fraternal order founded in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882.
The Knights of Columbus was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in 1882 as a mutual benefit society for Catholic immigrants and working-class families. It offered life insurance so that a family would not be left with nothing when its earner died.
Membership was limited to practicing Catholic men, so K of C in an obituary or on a gravestone tells you the man was Catholic. His council may have kept membership records.
As seen in a recordNewspaper obituary
He was a member of the K. of C. and the A.O.H.
