All other free persons

All other free persons was the 1790 to 1810 census column for free people not counted as white; from 1800 it left out Indians not taxed.

The early schedules had columns for free white males and females, then all other free persons, then slaves. From 1800 the heading added the words except Indians not taxed.

The column gives a single count with no ages. In 1820 it was replaced by separate counts of free colored persons by sex and age, and a column of all other persons except Indians not taxed.
