verh.
Verh. is short for verheiratet, German for "married"; verh. mit means "married to" and is followed by the spouse's name.
Verh. appears in family registers, civil records and printed genealogies, often with a date and place: verh. 1872 in Bremen mit Anna geb. Thiel. In older spelling the full word was verheirathet.
It describes a state, being married, rather than the wedding itself. For the ceremony look for Trauung, getraut or copuliert, which usually come with the exact wedding date.
