processetti
Processetti are Italian marriage supplements: the packet of papers, often with birth records, a couple filed before a wedding.
Processetti, also called allegati, are the documents a bride and groom had to present to the priest or mayor before marrying. One guide dates the names as allegati up to 1815, processetti from 1816 to 1865, and allegati again from 1866, but archives and catalogs use both words, so search for either.
A packet may hold copies of both partners' birth or baptism records, the banns, dispensations, and death records of parents or grandparents whose consent was needed. They are filed separately from the marriage register but in the same order, so note the marriage act number to find them.
Look it up: old jobs, causes of death, Latin, abbreviations, nicknames and more.
