dos
Dos is Latin for a dowry, the property a bride brought into the marriage; dotis means of the dowry.
Dos means dowry, and by extension a gift, endowment or talent. The genitive is dotis.
A dowry belongs to marriage contracts, wills and court records rather than to the register entry itself. Those papers can list land, money and goods, and they name the bride's parents and the groom, which helps when the register is lost.
As seen in a recordLatin will, Austria, 1700s
Pro dote filiae meae Annae florenos centum
