gener

Gener is Latin for son-in-law, the husband of one's daughter.

Gener means son-in-law. It turns up in burial entries of older people living with a married daughter and in records naming a man as heir or guardian through his wife.

When a gener is named, the record confirms the daughter's marriage, even if the marriage entry itself is lost.
