socrus
Socrus is Latin for mother-in-law, the mother of one's husband or wife.
Socrus means mother-in-law. It may appear when a widow lived with a married child, or when she stood as godmother to a grandchild.
In household lists and burial entries, socrus tells you she was the spouse's mother, so her surname may differ from everyone else in the house.
