indflyttet

Indflyttet (modern innflyttet) means "moved in"; Norwegian church books list newcomers to a parish with their age, origin and certificate.

The arrival lists, tilgangslister, give the name of the person moving in, the date, age, reason for coming, the parish they came from, birthplace, new residence in the parish and their certificate. They cover mostly 1814 to 1875.

Because the list names the parish a person came from, it is the bridge back to their earlier records. FamilySearch notes that these lists are important for following the movements of the working class.
