Banker
A banker ran or owned a bank, keeping an establishment for deposits, loans of money and dealing in bills of exchange.
Wiktionary defines a banker as one who conducts the business of banking, alone or as a member of a company. It also lists other senses: an obsolete word for a money changer, and a vessel in the cod fishery on the banks of Newfoundland, so in a fishing town a banker may be a boat.
The 1900 census instructions told enumerators to distinguish carefully between a bank clerk, a cashier in bank and a bank official, and the 1930 instructions give "President, Bank" as an example entry.
