Great-aunt

A great-aunt, also called a grandaunt, is the sister of one of your grandparents, or the wife of a grandparent's brother.

A great-aunt is your parent's aunt: a sister of one of your grandparents, or by marriage the wife of a grandparent's brother.

Grandaunt and great-aunt are two names for the same relative. In a census relationship column she is described by her link to the head, so the great-aunt of the children may be the head's aunt.
