parochus
Parochus is Latin for "parish priest," the priest in charge of a parish, who usually wrote and signed the register entries.
Parochus means the priest in charge of the parish. Entries often end with his name and title, or with ego parochus, I the parish priest.
Knowing who the parochus was in a given year helps date undated pages and identify handwriting. When another priest stood in, the entry may say so, which explains a change in the hand.

Ego Antonius Weber, parochus loci, baptizavi
