baptizatus
Baptizatus is Latin for "baptized" (of a male; baptizata for a female), and the date after it is the day of the baptism, not the birth.
Baptizatus (feminine baptizata, plural baptizati) means baptized and is the key word in a baptism register. In Catholic records it was often written as an abbreviation, such as bapt. or bap.
Many registers give both dates, the birth (natus) and the baptism. When only one date is given, it is usually the baptism. Do not record it as the birth date without noting the difference.
