religio
Religio is Latin for religion; in a tabular register it gives the faith of the person entered.
Religio first meant scruple, piety or reverence, and in later Latin it came to mean a religion. The BYU glossary gives religion, piety and reverence.
Tabular parish books have Latin column headings, and religio is one you may see beside the name. The answer, such as catholica, helps you decide which church's records to search for other events.
