pochowany
Pochowany is Polish for "buried" (pochowana for a woman); in a parish book it gives the burial, not the death.
Pochowany is the past participle of pochować, which in this sense means to lay someone in a grave. You meet it in parish burial books and in notes beside a death entry.
Other burial words in the same records are pochowanie and pogrzeb, both meaning burial, and pogrzebany, buried. The cemetery is cmentarz. A burial date and a death date are two different facts, so note which one the entry gives before you copy it into your tree.
Look it up: old jobs, causes of death, Latin, abbreviations, nicknames and more.
