utflyttad

Utflyttad means "moved out"; in a household roll or moving-out register it records the date someone left the parish and where they went.

When a person left a parish, the pastor wrote utflyttad, or utfl., with the date and destination in the household roll, and entered the move in the moving register, the utflyttningslängd. The person took a moving certificate to the new parish.

Follow the trail: the destination parish should have a matching inflyttad entry. For emigrants the note may read utflyttad till Amerika or Nordamerika.
