gemelli
Gemelli is Latin for "twins" (singular gemellus); a register may mark twin births with gemelli in the margin.
Gemelli means twins. Twin baptisms are often recorded together, sometimes with the word in the margin or linked by eodem die (on the same day).
If you find two children of the same parents baptized on the same day, look for gemelli in the entry or the margin. Twins are easy to mistake for a duplicate entry, so read both names before discarding one.
